Abstract
newline Wound healing is a complex biological process that involves various cellular and molecular
newlinemechanisms. Individuals with diabetes often face challenges in wound healing due to impaired
newlineimmune function and increased susceptibility to infections. Traditional wound care products,
newlinealthough widely available, often come with limitations such as antibiotic resistance and adverse side
newlineeffects. Therefore, there is a need to explore alternative approaches that harness the potential of
newlinenatural compounds for effective wound healing.
newlineIn recent years, there has been a growing interest in utilizing plant-derived compounds for their
newlineantimicrobial and wound healing properties. Plants, with their rich repository of bioactive molecules,
newlinehave been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Eucalyptus and Curcuma are two such plants
newlinethat have gained attention for their therapeutic potential. Eucalyptus, known for its antimicrobial
newlineproperties, has been traditionally used to treat various infections. Curcuma, on the other hand,
newlineexhibits anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, making it a promising candidate for wound
newlinehealing.
newlineBuilding upon this knowledge, the present study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of
newlineselected plant extracts and develop a formulation for wound healing. The research focused on the
newlinesynergistic effects of Eucalyptus and Curcuma extracts, as their combination has the potential to
newlineenhance the efficacy of wound healing formulations. By harnessing the power of these natural
newlinecompounds, we aimed to create a novel formulation that surpasses existing marketed products in
newlineterms of antimicrobial activity and wound healing properties.
newlineTo achieve these objectives, a systematic methodology was employed. The selected plants were
newlinecarefully chosen based on their known antimicrobial properties and traditional use in wound healing.
newlineThe active compounds from Eucalyptus and Curcuma were extracted using suitable techniques, and
newlinetheir antimicrobial activity was evaluated against common wound-related pathogen
