Theorising Stigmatised and Marginalised Identities a Study of Dalits in India and UK

Abstract

Dalits are stigmatised and marginalised from ages in different regions. Nature and intensity newlineof stigma and marginalisation differ from person to person and place to place. It was assumed newlinethat caste system disappears in the wake of modern education and modernisation but it is newlinebecoming stronger instead of disappearing. Caste system is taking different form and colour. newlineDalits are subjected to undergo unfair, abusive, derogatory, humiliating circumstances due to newlinecaste system. Dalits are facing marginalization, subjugation, discrimination and newlineuntouchability even today. Caste continues to dominate Indian people wherever they live. newline
