Abstract
The linear Fresnel reflector solar concentrator LFRSC system is a
newlinesolar thermal energy system currently used for domestic and industrial
newlineapplications The system uses parallel rows of mirrors lined up underneath a
newlinelong elevated thermal absorber The mirrors move so as to focus solar
newlineradiation onto the absorber The absorber contains a bank of water tubes
newlinethrough which water is circulated It gradually absorbs heat energy by the
newlineradiation reflected from mirrors This thesis mainly addresses a broad range of
newlinedesign issues related to absorber of LFRSC system
newlineThe performance of LFRSC system depends on the design
newlineParameters mass flow rate desired temperature difference tracking accuracy
newlineEtc In the present work an analytical simulation is done to select the system
newlinedesign parameters using MATLAB program The selected value of each
newlinedesign parameters is used to measure the performance of the LFRSC system
