| dc.description.abstract | Within the realm of nonrelativistic quantum scattering theory, the nucleon-nucleon scattering newlinewith the Manning-Rosen potential has been discussed. We have used this potential that is newlineotherwise ideal for diatomic interaction, in the nuclear domain for the first time and newlineconstructed closed form methodical expressions for on-and off-shell Jost solutions and newlinetransition matrices for all partial waves at all energies. In non-charged hadron scattering, in newlineorder to obtain all concerned physical observables with judicious approximations a short newlinerange local potential can be used. The solution which vanishes at the origin is regular and newlinewhich does not is irregular. In quantum scattering theory the irregular/Jost solution of the newlineSchrödinger equation is of immense value. Physically, the Jost functions (on-and off-shell) newlinerepresent the wave amplitudes. Also having known the physical properties, on-and off-shell newlineof a system, one can reconstruct the potential that reproduces the observed phenomena. newline | |
