Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the effects of interval training in
newlinevaried surfaces on performance related fitness variables among kabaddi players.
newlineIn order to achieve the purpose of the present study, The purpose of the study,
newlinesixty (n=60) male Kabaddi players were selected from RVS KVK School of
newlineArchitecture, RVS College of Arts and Science and J.J College of Engineering and
newlineTechnology, Tiruchirappalli District, Tamil Nadu state, India during the
newlineacademic year 2016 - 2017 and the subject age were ranged from of 19 to 23
newlineyears and they were divided into three groups and each group twenty numbers of
newlinesubjects. Group-I underwent Interval training in clay court, Group-II underwent
newlineinterval training in Kabaddi floor mat and Group-III acted as control group they
newlinedid not participated in any special training apart from their regular curriculum
newlineoriented activities. The following variables were selected as criterion variables
newlinesuch as agility, cardiovascular endurance, leg explosive power, muscular
newlinestrength, reaction time, breath holding time and resting heart rate.
newlineThe collected data from the three groups prior to and after the
newlineexperimental treatments on selected performance related fitness variables were
newlinestatistically analyzed by using the statistical technique of dependent t test and
newlineanalysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Whenever the F ratio for adjusted post-test
newlinemeans was found to be significant, Scheffe s test was followed as a post hoc test
newlineto determine which of the paired means difference was significant.
