Abstract

newline Background The mutational changes in Polycystin-1(PC-1) encoded by pkd1 gene is the main cause of Autosomal Dominant Polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). The pathological changes in renal epithelial cells and multiple cyst formation occur due to activation of cascade of signalling pathways. Initially study has focused on the interaction study of Polycystin-1 and other selected target proteins with different renal transporters (RTs), in order to find out their role in pathogenesis. Based on the interaction study target protein will be selected and modelled, Validated and simulated to check the stability of the predicted structure. The medicinal plants such as Boerhavia diffusa (BD), Crataeva nurvala (CN) and Pedalium murex (PM) Linn, has anti-inflammatory, antiurolithiatic, and diuretic properties, has a greater tendency to cure nephrological and urinary defects. Further Identification of compounds from BD, CN and PM to find an effective ligand molecule against the target protein.
