Correlation Of Serum Adropin Level With Or Without Complication Of Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Adropin is a hormone, encoded by the energy homeostasis associated (Enho) gene. The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is increasing rapidly globally. The disease is mainly characterized by macrovascular and microvascular complications. T2DM when untreated leads to complications such as neuropathy, nephropathy, and retinopathy. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by increased blood glucose level and it may be due to defect in insulin synthesis, action or both. Our study was aimed to compare the serum Adropin level in T2DM, healthy controls and different population of T2DM with complications. Moreover, our study was also aimed to correlate the serum Adropin level with different biochemical parameters including insulin and microalbumin in different study population. newline
