quotBackground: The rapid transition to online education, accelerated by the pandemic, highlighted both the potential and the limitations of digital learning platforms in higher and technical education. Challenges such as digital accessibility and engagement coexist with opportunities for scalable, flexible education delivery. newlineAim: To investigate the challenges and opportunities in the integration of online education within higher and technical education, focusing on pedagogical and infrastructural aspects. newlineMaterials and Methods: Composite research design was employed, combining quantitative surveys of students and faculty with descriptive interviews. Using statistical technique Correlation, Regression, and Chi-square Methods to justify hypothesis and interpretation Data were analyzed using SPSS for statistical and thematic insights. newlineResults and Discussion: Findings revealed a digital divide impacting rural students disproportionately, while urban counterparts benefited from advanced tools. Faculty training emerged as a key area for improvement. Blended learning models combining synchronous and asynchronous methods showed the potential to bridge engagement gaps. newlineConclusions: Online education can democratize learning in higher and technical education but requires robust infrastructure, effective policy implementation, and continuous faculty development.
