Abstract

In modern civilization, every person is making decisions in every aspects of life for survival in the globe. Due to complexity in real life situations and variations of human perceptions, decision making processes are becoming more complicated and uncertain. To make reasonable decision under some complex situations, multicriteria decision making (MCDM) [49] processes turn out to be one of the most efficient techniques. In classical MCDM methods, crisp numbers are used to draw comparison between the criteria; and ranking of the alternatives are determined with less difficulty. But, the decision makers (DMs) often face difficulties in providing justifiable judgment values for executing MCDM methods with its classical form as it is unable to handle the vagueness or possibilistic uncertainties associated with real life situations. Thus, the introduction of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic [50] in MCDM processes become essential to capture such possibilistic uncertainties. Fuzzy logic is a logic based approach which provides advance decision making processes by integrating associated rules to make a reasonable decision. newline
