Abstract

The thesis entitled Nutrient and Post-harvest management practices newlinein Jasmine (Jasminum sambac L. Aiton) was carried out at Educational Garden newlineof Floriculture and Landscaping, College of Agriculture, O.U.A.T., Bhubaneswar newlineduring the year 2021-22 and 2022-23 The experiment no-1 was laid out in newlineRandomized Block Design (RBD) with objectives of effect of nutrients on newlinevegetative growth of Jasmine and efficacy of nutrients on floral characteristics of newlineJasmine with nineteen treatments for nutrient management study i.e.,T1(60-120- newline120 NPK kg/ha.) (RDF), T2 (60-120-100 NPK kg/ha), T3 (60-100-120 NPK newlinekg/ha), T4 (60-100-100 NPK kg/ha ), T5 (60-80-120 NPK kg/ha),T6 (60-80-100 newlineNPK kg/ha),T7 (80-120-120 NPK kg/ha), T8 (80-120-100 NPK kg/ha ),T9 (80- newline100-120 NPK kg/ha ), T10 (80-100-100 NPK kg/ha),T11 (80-80-120 NPK newlinekg/ha),T12 (80-80-100 NPK kg/ha ) T13 (100-120-120 NPK kg/ha) T14 (100- newline120-100 NPK kg/ha ) T15 (100-100-120 NPK kg/ha ) T16 (100-100-100 NPK newlinekg/ha),T17 (100-80-120 NPK kg/ha ),T18 (100-80-100 NPK kg/ha), T19 (control) newlineand experiment no-2 consists of ten treatments i.e., T1 (Tap water), T2 (Sugar at newline4%), T3 (Lemon juice at20 ml/l), T4 (Crocin tablet powder at 500 mg/l ) T5 newline(Boric acid at 4 %) T6 (Aluminium sulphate at 25%) T7 (sugar at 4% + newlineAluminium Sulphate at 50 ppm) T8 (Neem oil at 2%) T9 (Sprite at100 ml/l) T10 newline(Rosemary oil at 200 ppm + Sucroseat 2%) following Complete Random Design newline(CRD) with objective of standardization of post-harvest treatments of jasmine for newlinepostharvest study. All the treatments were replicated thrice and the data of both newlinethe experiments were analysed following DMRT. newlineBased on the results of the experiment, application of N=100 kg/ha, newlineP=120 kg/ha, K=120 kg/ha in two equal split doses twice in a year i.e., once one newlinemonth after pruning and another last week of June was proved to be more newlineefficient in boosting various vegetative growth like plant height(102.3 cm),East- newlineWest spread (81.92cm), North-South spread (80.96 cm),leaf area (87.89cm2), newlineNumber of primary branches (16.55), number of leaves per bush
