Sensors play a decisive role in the control of technological newlineprocesses and have become one of the most important part of our life. The newlinedetection and quantification of a quantity, whether chemical or physical, newlinerequires a sensing platform which can specifically or selectively monitor newlinethat quantity. newlineA chemical sensor is a device that transforms chemical information, newlineranging from the concentration of a specific component in a sample to newlinetotal composition analysis, into an analytically useful signal. The newlinechemical information may originate from a chemical reaction of the newlineanalyte or from a physical property of the system investigated. Hence newlinedevelopment of a sensor which respond to a component irrespective of all newlineother species and surrounding conditions itself is a challenge. newlineSensing methods based on voltammetric and fluorescence newlinetechniques have been of great interest recently due to their simplicity, newlinerobustness, sensitivity and practical utility for in-vivo and in-vitro newlineanalysis. Furthermore, the efficacy of these devices in real time analysis newlinehave been proven. Development of voltammetric and fluorescence newlinesensors for sudan I, a food colorant, and various clinically important newlinecompounds such as epinephrine (EP), homovanillic acid (HVA), guanine, newlineand PAM chloride (PAM) have been carried out during the course of the newlineresearch. Development Quantum Dot - affimer conjugates as multivalent newlineligands for sensitive determination of cancer biomarkers HER-2 and newlineVEGFR-2 have also been done during the period of research.
