Dengue is an acute vector-borne viral infection transmitted mainly by female Aedes aegypti newlineand Aedes albopictus, commonly known as tiger mosquito [1]. These two mosquitos are day newlinebiters and can transmit four major arboviruses, including yellow fever, dengue, chikungunya, newlineand Zika, which cause significant health and financial burdens worldwide [2]. Aedes newlinemosquitos feed throughout the day, with peak acts occurring at dawn and dusk. They tend to newlinefeed aggressively on humans and multiple people [3]. Aedes albopictus, commonly known as newlinethe Asian tiger mosquito, is also an aggressive day-biting mosquito that primarily feeds on newlinehumans but can also feed on other mammals, birds, and reptiles. They are opportunistic newlinefeeders and can bite multiple times during a single feeding session. Aedes albopictus is newlinecapable of biting during the day and at night, although they are primarily active during the newlineday, especially during dawn and dusk. They are known to bite people indoors and outdoors newlineand can survive in a variety of environments, including urban and rural areas [4]. Research newlinehas shown that Aedes albopictus is more likely to bite humans during the early morning and newlinelate afternoon periods than compared to other times of the day. In addition, they tend to bite newlinein shaded or protected areas, such as under trees or bushes, as they prefer to avoid direct newlinesunlight. Aedes albopictus is also known to prefer feeding on exposed skin, particularly the newlineankles and feet [5]. newlineDengue fever was initially recognized as quotwater poisonquot linked with flying flies in a Chinese newlinemedical book 992 from the Jin Dynasty (265-420 AD). The word quotdenguequot is taken from the newlineAfrican language Swahili idiom Ka-dinga pepo, which means quotcramp-like seizurequot. Dengue newlinefever is also called quotbreak-bone feverquot. Benjamin Rush gave this term because of symptoms newlineof myalgia and arthralgia after the first clinical case reported from 1789-1780 epidemics in newlinePhiladelphia. Dengue fever term was not widely used until after 1828 [6].
