dc.description.abstractIn India, the beauty and wellness industry is blooming. This can be attributed to the changing newlinedemographics in India over the past 2 3 decades. The focus of the present investigation was to newlinestudy the Assessment of physiological workload and musculoskeletal disorder of beauticians newlinePrayagraj engaged in various beauty parlour activities. The sample size for the study comprised newlineof total 110 beauticians who were selected for experimental cum exploratory research design. newlineThe study was conducted in Naini market, A.D.A.Naini, Mahewa, Kareli, and Sohbatiyabagh of newlinePrayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The ergonomic assessment, direct observation, interview schedule, newlineSES scale, body map, RULA, REBA, and NORDIC questionnaire were used as tools for newlinecollecting data, and chi-square test and t-test were used for the analysis of data. The findings of newlinethe present investigation revealed that the majority of the beauticians belonged to lower middle, newlineupper middle, upper lower, upper and lower class of socio-economic status. It was found that the newlinemajority of beauticians were facing physical problems like pain in different body parts. newlineAccording to their Muscular Stress, they felt pain in their neck (54.55 percent), in their right newlineshoulder (27.27 percent), left shoulder (22.73 percent), and in both shoulders (43.64 percent). newlineWhile 6.36 percent in the right elbow, 10.00 percent in the left elbow, 26.36 percent in both newlineelbows, and in the neck was 54.55 percent. They felt 12.73, 22.73, and 44.55 percent pain in the newlineright, left, and both wrists/hands. They felt maximum pain in their upper back (70.00 percent). newlinePain in their hips/ thighs was 10.00 percent and pain in their lower back was 40.00 percent while newline32.73 percent of body pain occurred in both knees and 11.82 percent in both anklets/feet. newlineBeauticians adopted a minimum of 20-300 and a maximum of 600 newline 650 newlinebending to normal angle newlinein various activities.
