Abstract
In India, parenting holds the highest stature of all the roles that a man and especially woman,
newlineplay. The parenting style differs from state to state and from rural and urban setups. However, if
newlineone looks at it with a broader perspective, it can be described as highly perspectiveand#8223; and
newline introject iveand#8223;. Parent ing ideas have undergone change, but certain tendencies of Indianand#8223;
newlineparenting persist. Social perspective forms the greatest difference between western and Indian
newlineparenting. Several articles have been written on the changing of recent trends in parenting. The
newlinepopular term lawn mower parentand#8223; represents a set of parents who are constant ly solving their
newlinechildrenand#8223;s problems. The parents mowand#8223; a problem before giving the child a chance to sort out
newlinethe issues for himself. Lawn mower parents are always hovering over their children, fussing over
newlinethem and give them little space to grow up into responsible and independent adults. In India,

newlineof Ahmedabad district with reference to gender, board and area. The hypothesis in this study
newlinewere constructed on the basis of the variables as mentioned above. For the present research
newlineresearcher has selected 1000 high school students of Std 9

newline of different urban and rural
newlineschools of Ahmedabad district following GSEB and CBSE curriculum. Random sampling
newlinetechniques has been used in this research.
