Abstract

Educational achievement is the touchstone of civilization culture newlineand progress of a country It is important for the socioeconomic newlinedevelopment of a society Out of 110 crore Indian population only newline7238 crore people 658 are literate In India youths getting educational newlineopportunity especially higher educational opportunity is very low and the newlinerelevant agegroup entering into the universities is only 7 per cent According newlineto University Grants Commission UGCReport 200102 there are newline300 universities and 16000 colleges exist in India The number of students is newline675 lakhs and there are 321 lakh teachers in the higher education These newlinenumbers are very small for the population of India newline newline
