newlineTQM has become a holistic management thinking that tries to improve organizational
newlineperformance by use of continuous improvement, customer orientation and employee
newlineparticipation. In the modern competitive world particularly in the developing economies like
newlineIndia, TQM has gained a high relevance regarding enhancing the operational efficiency, market
newlinecompetitiveness, and long-term sustainability of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises
newline(MSMEs). This paper discusses the role, practice, and effects of the use of TQM in MSMEs
newlinewith particular reference to the businesses in Wardha District, Maharashtra. The study starts
newlinewith the historical maturity and scrutiny of quality management, since ancient inspection-based
newlinequality management to more current and holistic quality management. It shows the
newlinedevelopment of quality management in stages including inspection, quality control, quality
newlineassurance and finally the development into the Total Quality Management. The development
newlineis a response to the transformation of a defect detection service to a defect prevention service,
newlineas well as a centralized quality service to a company-wide one. The modern approach considers
newlineTQM a strategic and cultural perspective that helps sustainability, innovation, and resilience,
newlinewhich stems out the advanced methodologies of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen. The research
newlinepoints out the fact that TQM is not a technical regime but rather a comprehensive philosophy
newlinethat involves complete involvement of the employees, customer focus, constant enhancement
newlineand combined process management. TQM can help companies to minimize waste, decrease
newlinedefects, increase efficiency, and customer satisfaction; moreover, by integrating quality into all
