Investment Decision Process of Angel Investors A Critical Analysis

Abstract

newlineThe study aims at providing suggestions to both angel investors and newlineentrepreneurs. The study has framed conceptual model comprising of six newlineindependent variables such as Product, Market, Investor Fit, Entrepreneur\ newlineManagement team, Business Plan, Financial Attributes. It includes two mediating newlinevariables such as Investment Motivation and Investor s Learning. Investment newlineDecision is the Dependent variable. newlineVarious reviews have been collected regarding investment motivation, newlineinvestors learning and factors influencing investment decision. The study is newlinedescriptive and empirical in nature. Using primary data, empirical study is carried out newlineto find the most influential angel investor s investment decision behaviour. Primary newlinedata is obtained through well-structured questionnaire which obtained data for all 9 newlineconstructs of the study. newlineThe study is conducted in top five metropolitan cities which are notified by newlinegovernment of India. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs have defined certain cities newlineas Metropolitan cities based on Minimum population, percentage of male main newlineworkers engaged in non-agricultural pursuits, density of population per 400 sq. km. newlineand other such criteria. Based on these criteria, the researcher has conducted study newlinein top five metropolitan cities such as Greater Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, newlineBangalore. This is how the study area has been selected. Multistage sampling newlinetechnique is used, since all the angel networks in these top five metropolitan cities newlineare listed and then few angel networks operating in these cities are selected at newlinerandom basis. After selecting angel network in random probability method, data has newlinebeen collected from the angel investors belonging to that selected angel networks. newlineData is collected from 336 angel investors belonging to various angel group networks. newline
