Abstract
Power system plays a crucial role in the sustainable development of any country The smarter technology is desirable for the efficient operation control and monitoring of the power grid in a smarter way In this efficient power management can obtain by implementing Demand side management In recent years power grids are incorporate with an intelligent multi agent system for a smarter function of the system Multi agent system provides easy monitoring autonomous control of power flow self healing and flexibility The function of multi agent systems is mostly in the field of power trading In present gird multi agent systems are not implemented in real time applications In this work an efficient design algorithm using a multi agent system for demand side management in the smart grid is proposed Impression behind this work is to moderate the power usages of the consumer by providing the different type of tariffs based on the power usage These reduce the peak demand and maintain the uniform demand curve in the power grid Constant power supply to the grid increases the lifetime of the grid and substation equipment also develop the footpath in the use of renewable resources like solar wind and so on Consumers have their choice to schedule their load based on the available tariff it will reduce the billing cost of the consumers Two types of tariffs likely time of day tariff and real time tariff are proposed and compared to reduce the billing cost of the consumers
