The primary occupation in the villages is that of agricultural farming. It is important to make this occupation profitable so that India is better in every respect. Farming continues to be the backbone of the socio-economic structure of the Nation. newlineThis study was conducted to determine the present status of Agricultural farming including socio economic status, cost of cultivation and to identify the constraints relating to cultivation of major crops and marketing of farm produce and to make probable suggestions for addressing the identified constraints. The study was conducted in Jasra block (Yamunapar) and Soraon block (Gangapar) of Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2019-20. A sample of 240 farmers were selected for the collection of primary data and the data was collected by personal interview method using a well-organized schedule. The result of the research study revealed that more than half of the respondents (57.08 per cent) were in Middle Age groups (36 to 50 years), which shows that they are in their productive and economically active age and capable of producing major crops, which increases their growth. 41.66 per cent of the respondents had high school level of education. Whereas, more than half 58.75 per cent of the respondents had more than 15 to 30 years of farming experiences, 21.20 per cent of farmers doing Farming+ Animal husbandry as their occupation, more than half of the respondents (57.91 per cent) holding Marginal Land Holding (lt 1 hectare), and there is significant relationship between the education of farmers and Farming experience. The overall cost of cultivation of Paddy was Rs. 34537.28 from the total cost of cultivation and overall gross return from main product and by product was obtained Rs. 57728 per hectare with net income Rs. 23190.71 per hectare with B
