Abstract
Ambedkar wanted to empower women with equal rights and status as depicted in various provisions of Indian constitution. Ambedkar s vision of political and social democracy aimed at eradication of all forms of discrimination and created a favourable environment for upliftment of women and depressed section of society. Women empowerment stands for creating an enabling equal environment in the form of access to resources, awareness for her rights, and claims as a citizen on the basis of equality, liberty and contribution in decision making. Constitution proved to be directional guide and flexible tool in the hands of legislature to cater the needs of women empowerment. The study is focused on the implementation of Ambedkar s vision of social justice and women empowerment. Though women in both rural and urban areas felt more empowered and upliftment in their status as compare to historical status of women, but still women areas have been left behind in many potential areas. The situation and conditions aroused after globalization can be utilized as an opportunity if they are evenly planned and implemented. under Indian Constitution in the era of Globalization.
