An Intelligent Web Framework Based on Ontology Design

Abstract

Web is a vast, varied and deep set of resources in terms of information which is abstract and dynamic in nature. Therefore, it is extremely difficult and challenging to search relevant information quickly and efficiently on web. With the growth and popularity of WWW (World Wide Web) as the largest database for any information search on web, the problem appeared of information overload resulting in thousands of relevant or irrelevant information to the user. Most of the present web Search Engines (keyword- based) index HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) pages to find answers to our searches, a large number of irrelevant results may be exploded on the computer screen which may not be the desired or correct information or it may not be obtained efficiently. Therefore, there is a need to have an intelligent (machine-understandable) Web system with built-in semantics to sense and cater to the needs of the user in terms of providing relevant information efficiently, accurately and appropriately. To fulfill this need, one needs to move towards a machine-understandable (semantic-based) web search instead of only human-readable (keyword-based) search. The search should retrieve and sort the information in terms of logical connectivity or logical relevance or logical relationship to make it more meaningful and useful. newline
