Study of Floristic Composition Growing Stock Biomass and Carbon stock of Tree Species of Chitrakoot Forest Division Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

The present investigation entitled Study of Floristic Composition, Growing Stock, Biomass newlineand Carbon Stock of Tree Species of Chitrakoot Forest Division Uttar Pradesh was carried newlineout during the year 2017-2022. The field work was conducted in five forest ranges located in newlineChitrakoot Forest Division. Aboveground biomass was estimated using non-destructive analysis newlineby species- specific allometric equations while belowground biomass was calculated using a newlineconstant value for relation of above to belowground biomass ratio. Total carbon sequestration newlinewas evaluated by adding carbon density of each species present in the forest range. The findings newlineof the present study with respect of the objectives mentioned and the salient features summarized newlinehere in. Total no. of Tree species was found in Chitrakoot forest division (42) in Dense part of newlineforest maximum no. of species found in Manikpur forest range (21) and minimum in Raipura newlineforest range (5) similarly in moderate part maximum was in Manikpur (16) and minimum in newlineKarvi (8) and in open part maximum was found in Markundi (8) while minimum was found in newlineBargarh (2). Total no. of family maximum was found in Manikpur forest range (14) while newlineminimum was found in Bargarh forest range (2). Range of IVI values of all ranges in dense part newlinemaximum was in Raipura (165.93-10.91) and minimum in Karvi (42.24-6.45) in moderate part newlinemaximum was in Karvi (85.85-8.11) and minimum in Manikpur (60.35-6.14) in open part newlinemaximum was in Bargarh (202.58-97.58) while minimum in Markundi (87.26-15.81). Diversity newlineindices (Shanon Weiner diversity index (H)) in dense part was reported maximum in Manikpur newline(4.49) while minimum in Raipura (0.62) in moderate part maximum was in Manikpur (2.83) and newlineminimum was in Karvi (1.73) in open part maximum was in Markundi (0.84) while minimum newlinewas in Manikpur (0.36). Total no. of tree biomass density (Mg ha-1 newline) in dense part maximum was newlinereported in Raipura forest range (7043.52) and minimum was in Markundi (1381.89) in moderate newlinepart maximum was
