Abstract
Today, with the growing popularity of smart grids over conventional power systems, microgrids with a high percentage of sustainable energy resources may dominate the distribution system. A microgrid is a restricted and decentralized energy system which is able to generate, store, and distribute electricity, often incorporating a variety of energy storage devices, renewable energy sources, as well as advanced control systems. Microgrids contribute to a more resilient, sustainable, and responsive energy infrastructure, addressing both the challenges of traditional centralized power systems and the growing demand for cleaner and more reliable energy sources. While microgrids and hybrid microgrids offer various benefits, they also face challenges and concerns that require resolution for effective employment. Ongoing research and technological advancements play a crucial role in overcoming these issues and making microgrids and hybrid microgrids more accessible and reliable solutions.
