Vastusastra Philosophy of Manifestation A Study

Abstract

Vand#257;stuand#347;and#257;stra is an Indic theory of architecture and a science of higher dimension . The Sanskrit term describes a body of knowledge, sustained, developed, and modified by successive generations of architects through the course of many centuries. It also implies a tradition of knowledge which has at various times been ordered and expressed in a range of texts and with a variety of titles. There are innumerable living and non-living objects in this world. All these objects are generally called vastu . When an architect/ and#347;ilpi applies his mind and imagination and his self on a particular object according to circumstances, directions and contexts, this particular vastu becomes vand#257;stu. This is a philosophical manifestation. The process of vastu becoming vand#257;stu is possible because of its pañchabhand#363;ta nature, and two energy systems like solar energy and geomagnetic energy affecting the objects. The archetype of graphic system in vand#257;stu i.e. vand#257;stupuand#7771;uand#7779;amaand#7751;dala , is a stage that provides the grid that aids in the beginning of the design of vand#257;stu manifestation. The Sand#257;mkhya theory of causation is the theory of causation that is supporting this view. Based primarily on the principle is that whatever is non-existent cannot be brought into existence, and whatever is existent cannot be made totally non-existent. The existence of the effect in the cause prior to its production is hence proved by this theory of causation. newline
