Abstract
The Last decade has seen a huge transformation in the teaching learning formats and delivery
newlinemodes.
newlineDue to penetration of internet and smart phones, online education and e-learning platforms have
newlinepredominantly captured major education industry. Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and
newlineLearning Management Systems (LMSs) have now become a new normal for all the universities
newlineoffering higher education. The learners toady have a choice to choose from various virtual
newlineplatforms offering courses from universities across the world. Learners find the online mode
newlineconvenient as they have a better accessibility and are self- paced as compared to face-to-face mode.
newlineThese learning platforms cater to specific needs of a learner in terms of learning resources
newlinepreferred by the learner and monitors individual interactions of learners with these resources by
newlinemaintaining logs on Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs). These logs can be used for generating
newlineinsights, which could be useful for the content designers.
