Study and development of de noising techniques for medical images

Abstract

newline Medical imaging is an invaluable tool in medicine and plays a significant newlinerole in the diagnosis and treatment planning. In the healthcare sector, medical image newlineprocessing has acted as a catalyst for significant development. Image modalities like newlineMagnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) scan, Ultrasound, newlineOptical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and others modalities provide an effective newlinemeans for mapping the anatomy of a subject. These technologies have the capacity to newlinedifferentiate normal and diseased anatomy for medical research and are a critical newlinecomponent in detection and diagnosis of various diseases. Noise in medical images newlineoccurs due to the faulty sensors, channel error, miss-focus, atmospheric turbulence, and newlinerelative camera motion. De-noising of medical images is highly required for both edge newlineand detail preservation. De-noising plays a crucial role and makes the acquired medical newlineimage more meaningful for further processing. Medical image de-noising has been a newlinewell-studied problem and a highly demanded area of research in the field of medical newlineimage processing.
