newlineIndian banking industry is one of the largest industry in the world. The present study is about An Analytical Study of Profitability in Indian Public Sector Banks during Pre and Post E banking Era . Today we are looking at saving time everywhere possible. When it comes to daily errands, e-banking has made the visits to bank a rare occurrence. The usage of e banking by the banks came into existence in the mid 90 s. E-banking came into existence into greater numbers because of low operating cost. In recent years growth and turn around in banking sector has been amazing and exceptional due to online technology exploited by the banking sector. This study analyzes profitability in Indian Public Sector Banks in pre and post E-Banking and determine empirically various factors influencing profitability in e-banking era. The study concentrates on 20 Indian Public Sector Banks. The time period of the study is divided into two parts: Pre- E-Banking era (1998-99 to 2007-08) and Post-E-Banking era. (2008-09 to 2018-19). The time period is deliberately selected because the information technology was introduced only during this time period. The present study based on secondary data collected from various electronic and non-electronic publications of governmental and non-governmental organizations. Various published documents of Reserve Bank of India and Indian Banking Association (IBA) such as Statistical Abstract Relating to Banks in India, Reports on Trends and Progress of Banking in India etc., Annual reports of various banks, Performance Highlights published by IBA, National and International Journals related to banking are also referred local and international newspapers also used of. The study focuses on impact of E-banking on the profitability of Indian Public Sector banks.
