Abstract
If we look at the historical conditions that led to the rise of feminism, it seems
newlinethat feminism is a social and political movement intended to alleviate the
newlineposition of women in society. But during the second wave s radical phase,
newlinefeminism was defined as a mode of analysis of social conditions, gradually it
newlineassumed prominence through analysing and critiquing the whole knowledge
newlineparadigm, in which the maleness of knowledge was sustained and women
newlinewere relegated to the margins. It happened simply because womenfolk were
newlinehardly the creator of such knowledge. In 1970 s and following decades women
newlinebiologists with a commitment to uncovering the sexist assumption in their
newlineresearch areas developed feminist critiques of biological theories; they claimed
newlinethat hidden (or sometimes not so hidden) assumptions about gendered social
newlineroles motivated and shaped research programs in evolutionary theory,
newlineprimatology, (Donna Haraway, Emily Martin, Nancy Tuana and Zuleyma

newlinecultural ,patriarchal underpinnings of the so called objective science they
newlinehighlighted that androcentric bias is rampant even within the hard sciences
newlinethat we often take for granted as scientific and objective.) developmental
