Abstract
newlineThis study investigates the linguistic phenomenon of code-mixing in
newlineChhattisgarhi written and spoken forms used by Chhattisgarhi undergraduate
newlineand postgraduate students from two colleges, Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre and
newlineDr. Bhavar Singh Porte colleges which are located at Pendra Road in Gaurela-
newlinePendra-Marwahi (GPM) district of Chhattisgarh. It shows how these students,
newlineat different levels, mix English lexical items in Chhattisgarhi in terms of
newlineformal and informal contexts. Further, it reveals the significant factors or
newlinereasons beyond mixing the languages in their communication.
