Work Life Balance Psychological Wellbeing and Organizational Effectiveness among Disability Rehabilitation Professionals

Abstract

Balancing our professional and personal life is essential in this modern world. Work newlinelife balance include the dimensions like work interference with personal life, personal life newlineinterference with work and work /personal life enhancement. Psychological well-being is newlinepivotal concept which enables us to understand how a person uses his full potential. In this newlinestudy we used the psychological well-being model given by Ryff in which six dimensions are newlinegiven. These dimensions include autonomy, personal growth, environmental mastery, newlinepositive relationship, self acceptance and purpose of life. An individual s organizational newlineeffectiveness provides us the details of the person s effectiveness towards his work. newlineOrganisational effectiveness is a organizational behaviour concept which provide various newlinedimensions of the person which include legitimization, self control, independence, job newlineinvolvement, innovation, organizational attachment , organizational commitment and job newlinesatisfaction. newlineIn this study the sample of study is disability rehabilitation professionals from two newlinedistricts of Kerala. Persons with disabilities are most marginalized group in society. Human newlineresource scarcity in the disability rehabilitation is one of the important concerns in providing newlinequality rehabilitation services. Mixed method is used in this study. Qualitative and newlinequantitative methods were used in this study to get comprehensive picture of research. newlineQualitative study aims to understand and analyzes effect of various factors of work newlinelife balance, psychological well being and organizational effectiveness among disability newlinerehabilitation professionals. Interview method was used for collecting data. Semi structured newlinequestions were used in the interview. Pilot study was conducted among five participants and newlinenecessary corrections were done. Twenty five disability rehabilitation professionals were newlineinterviewed.
