Ayurveda not only deals with newlinecurative and preventive aspects but also with composition of structural and functional newlineaspects of human body particularly based on practical observations gained by the then newlinephysicians and also by their divine vision as well as based on their experience and many newlinea thing by discussions in scientific gatherings and by the preaching of their elders or newlineteachers. newlineSharira (body), Indriya (sense organs), Sattva (mind) and Atma (soul) get newlinecombined to be called as Ayu (life). Every human being desire for the Deerghayu newline(longevity) which can be possible only through healthy status of body, mind and soul.1 newlineArogya (health) is essential for the achievement of Chaturvidha Purushartha (four newlinegoals of life), namely; Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha.2 Preventive and curative newlineaspects of Ayurveda aid us to achieve Arogya and ultimately the Chaturvidha newlinePurushartha. For a physician, Sharira Dnyana (knowledge of human body) is one of newlinethe prerequisites for Swastha-Rakshana (to preserve the health of the healthy) as well newlineas Atura Vikara-Prashamana (cure the disease of the unhealthy). newline
