The main goal of the work enclosed in the thesis was to improvise the properties of carbon newlinesurface, with an intention that the surface will be helpful for sensor applications. In this research newlinework, surfactant and polymer modified surface of graphite powder, carbon nanotube, graphene newlinewas selected and used to analyse the electrochemical properties of different electroactive newlinespecies, and the redox process taking place across the interface of the electrode surface and the newlineanalyte. The present work describes the development of sensors for the sensitive and selective newlinedetection of the different electroactive species such as Alloxan, Vanillin, Riboflavin, Isatin, newlineFast sulphon black F, Alizarin red and Evans s blue. The main theme of this thesis is to study newlinethe versatility of modified carbon paste electrode in terms of applications to investigate the newlineelectrochemical behaviour of different electroactive species by voltammetry methods like CV newlineand DPV. The thesis entitled Fabrication of Chemically Modified Electrodes for the newlineDetermination of Electroactive Species is organised in seven chapters. newlineChapter 1 gives a general introduction to Voltammetry with special importance to theoretical newlineaspects of CV and DPV, electrodes and electrode process, surface modifiers, electroactive newlinespecies and surface characterisation techniques like EIS and FE-SEM. The Chapter also newlineincorporates the review of literature, objectives and scope of the investigation are included. newlineChapter 2 describes the instrumentation, the electrode system, experimental technique and the newlineprocedure followed in this work. Practical aspects of preparation of modified carbon paste newlineelectrode have been explained. This chapter also includes explanation about the basic newlineequipment needed for electroanalysis such as potentiostat, electrochemical cell and data newlinestorage. newlineChapter 3A explains the design of a sensitive and selective voltammetric sensor based on newlineCTAB modified carbon paste electrode for the determination of alloxan. With a less expensive newlinefabricati
