Modeling Analysis And Size Optimization Of Hybrid Renewable Energy System

Abstract

Global warming, limited fossil fuel reserves and continuously increasing power demand newlineare the major issues which are being faced by world community. These facts have newlinemotivated scientists, researchers, industrialists and academicians to work for the feasible newlinesolutions. The promotion of use of renewable energy in different ways is a feasible option newlinein order to combat these problems. Heavy industrial manufacturing industries are good newlinecandidates for application of renewable energy. The present research work is in the newlinedirection of maximizing the use of renewable energy in fulfilling the heavy industries newlineelectricity demand with lesser pollutant emissions. Mainly, the research work is carried newlineout for attaining the objective of reduction of pollutant emissions along with cost analysis, newlinefor various constraints, in cement manufacturing sector in the world through penetration newlineof renewable energy for running various load sections of it. Feasibility analysis of various newlinehybrid energy systems, in both grid-connected and standalone ways, have been done for newlinesupplying electricity to different load sections of a cement manufacturing unit located in newlineChhattisgarh state of India. The cost analysis includes the calculation of Net Present Cost newline(NPC) and levelized Cost of Energy (COE). The constraints considered are mainly newlinemaximum annual capacity shortage, consumption of diesel, operating reserve and newlineminimum renewable energy fraction. The hybrid systems have been proposed for running newlineauxiliaries of a cement plant, a cement technology institute and various combinations of newlineother loads along with diesel fuel price and PV system s cost sensitivity analysis. All the newlineresults together show that hybrid renewable energy systems are feasible for reduction of newlinepollutant emissions and combating global warming. From the costs point of view, the newlinepayback period after the money investment is acceptable. newline
