Experimental studies on pervious concrete using different types of binders

Abstract

Concrete is a versatile and composite material composed of cement sand aggregates and water As per recent statistics it is the most widely consumed material around the world next to water Due to infrastructure development of grown and growing countries consumption of Portland cement has been increasing Hence to overcome the critical demand and issues with portland cement quite a lot of contemporary initiative works are being undertaken by various researchers across the world to find a suitable alternative material instead of cement binder So several alternative materials such as mineral admixtures artificial aggregates and eco friendly binders are being used to develop the applications of concrete with satisfied quality and needs Apart from structural applications concrete also plays a vital role in pavement construction With respect to the tremendous growth of infrastructure most of the streets in the cities are being covered with air proof concrete roads and it does not allow the rainwater to migrate into the ground and this leads to several problems In order to overcome those problems pervious concrete pavement can be preferred Pervious concrete pavement is newlinean exclusive and efficient measure to overcome the environmental problems and retain sustainability newline newline
