Abstract
Hybrid composites are gaining more attention in engineering
newlineapplications due to its better performance compared to conventional
newlinecomposites. in hybrid composites, more filler are used that provides enough
newlinestrength to the composites in all three directions. hence, the material acquires
newlineuniform strength through the structure. natural fiber reinforced hybrid composites are paying attention by the material scientists, engineers and industrialists due to its good strength to weight ratio, environmental friendly, low cost and ease of manufacturing. further, the total cost of the structure is reduced by notably without compromising the strength of the structure.
newlineveli karuvelam (prosopis juliflora) is a tree growing in all type of
newlineland without the need of pesticide and manure. it absorbs water from the
newlineground and has the ability to absorb water from the deep distance during the
newlinesummer. further, it is considered as weed which affects the growth of crops
newlineand plantation while growing near the agricultural field. hence, it should be
newlineeradicated to save the life of plant. indian almond is a tree growing in the
newlinetropical region. the leaves are used in the medical fields to cure the diseases
newlineand the fruits are edible which are eaten by birds and animals and not
newlineattracted by the human beings. in this investigation, it was planned to use the veli karuvelam and indian almond as the potential source for the composite manufacturing. fibers were extracted from the aforementioned tree and used to fabricate the hybrid composites. veli karuvelam fiber was extracted from the veli karuvelam tree and the indian almond fiber was extracted from the indian almond fruit which contained fiber in the flesh
