Abstract

newlineThe dedicated wavelength utilization and the control plane isolation are the most important factors that are to be considered in the working of optical burst switching networks. A burst contention, congestion of link, and the reservation factor may lead to dropping of burst in the optical networks. To reduce the probability of burst dropping, it is necessary to incorporate the assignment of wavelength and reservation of channel methodologies by slotted time and the burst assembly models. The major issues which are to be dealt on reducing the dropping probability of the bursts are as follows:
newlineand#61472;Allocation of resources just before the arrival of bursts
newlineand#61472;Further delay occurring in assembling of burst
newlineand#61472;Offset time
newlineMoreover, the traditional methods with one-to-one transmission of packet will take more time because of handling huge quantity of packets. Hence, this effort is made by presenting a method of OBS module which incorporates three such processes like Open-Flow(OF) dependent Orchestrator Live Node (OLN) method in the first stage, fuzzy logic dependent ranking in second stage, and offset time dependent reservation in the third stage, for overcoming the problem of reducing the burst dropping probability.
