It highlights on various problems like female foeticide, newlinelow literacy level of women, nutritional status and their position as per Indian tradition etc. This paper also examines remedial measures taken by government to elevate status of women in Indian society. Lastly it concludes on importance of women empowerment through multiple newlinestrategies. newline
