Abstract
Considering the environmental pollution and depletion of fossil fuels, the renewable energy sources become an inevitable option for power generation. The renewable energy resources such as solar and wind are considered to be the most important source in generating the power. However, these renewable resources are insufficient because it is intermittent in nature, lower efficiency and lack of reliability. To solve these issues, dependent sources like battery/super-capacitor are integrated with renewable resources to produce continuous power supply to the load. These renewable energies and the dependent sources need DC-DC converters as front-end converters for power conversion which suits different applications. Because of the requirement of integration, multiport converters act as the power electronic interfaces between the sources and the loads. Based on the input sources and loads, multi-port converters are classified as Multi Input Single Output (MISO) converters, Single Input Multi Output (SIMO) converters and Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) converters
