Abstract

A Study entitled A study of Citation Analysis of Psychology Journal Available in Directory of Open Access Journals The researcher focused on Citation analysis of psychology journal available in DOAJ, i.e. Psicologia: Reflexão e Crítica (Psychology: Research and Review) which is in Spanish Portuguese and in English language. It categorized in four sub-fields i.e. developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Psychological Assessment and Health Psychology. A study of citation analysis is useful for Teachers, Librarians, Researcher and Information Scientists to represent the relationship which exist between the cited author and cited documents, the technique of citation analysis cover the process of collection, counting and analysis given in various types of literature. It is a direct method to analyze the library record to decide the actual use of the documents .This information can provide useful idea for acquisition of important reading material and selection of documents. It can help to information system designer to plan their products and services, giving credit or related work, inform forth coming work. So citation analysis play vital role to study for any discipline of pure and social sciences. Present study is based on 11894 citations appended at 800 articles of Psicologia: Reflexão e Crítica journal. The span of 15 years (1997-2011) is taken in to consideration. It reveals authorship pattern and degree of collaboration in literature of psychology and analyzed the distribution according to the year, geographical area, language citation and identifies the ranking of journals newlineThe authors were analyzed to determine the percentage of single author, two and three authors. The maximum number of citations 6018 (50.60%) are of single author and least number of citations are 92(0.77%) are of corporate body newlineIX newlineauthorship.
