Abstract
Copper is a very important engineering material finding applications in
newlinevast number of fields due to its unique combination of properties such as very
newlinegood electrical conductivity thermal conductivity ductility and very good
newlinecorrosion resistance Pure copper which is having a minimum of 99 3
newlinecopper can be further classified in to three types They are Oxygen Free
newlineCopper OFC Electrolytic Tough Pitch ETP Copper and Phosphorous
newlineDeoxidized Copper Electrolytic tough pitch copper contains minimum
newlineimpurities and has more uniform electrical properties Additional inclusion of
newlineoxygen in electrolytic tough pitch copper forms oxides combining with the
newlineimpurity metals Electrolytic tough pitch copper is the most widely used
newlinecopper It represents more than half of copper use all over the world A level
