The research brings into focus the centrality of workplace happiness and the influence that organizational HR practices play in promoting employee happiness, which in turn contributes to facilitating their outcomes at work, critical for individual growth and development and organization success. newlineThe study gains significance especially in the backdrop of so much changes happening at the economic, business, technological and demographic environment in the recent times, including the extremely challenging coronavirus pandemic, which has had far-reaching implications on the nature of work and internal environment of the organizations. newlineThis research study has picked up the threads from multiple earlier research studies, based on the observations, findings and scope for future research indicated by the previous researchers. In India in the last few years, a few isolated studies have been done on related topics like employee satisfaction, engagement, and commitment, but comprehensive study of workplace happiness linked to one of its key sources, i.e., HRM practices , and its consequent influence on employee outcomes in the Indian context, is not available. The current research study has endeavoured to bridge that knowledge gap. newlineThe study provides a conceptual model to reinforce focus on happiness, as a fundamental concept at the workplace. It provides clarity on which HRM practices promote workplace happiness more, and how the latter impact employee outcomes, and whether workplace happiness varies across five generations of workforce in the Indian context. The research has also brought forward certain key best practices to improve employee happiness and well-being in Indian context, which will be indispensable to policy makers, business leaders, HR Heads, and future researchers, to not only create happy and productive workplaces, but also manage their businesses better in continuously changing times. newlineKey words: - Happiness, Workplace Happiness, Employee outcomes, HRM practices, employee well-being, generational
