| dc.description.abstract | Human beings always strive for economic, physical and mental wellbeing. In order to achieve so, humankind has traded off the available resources with its needs. This leads to exhaustion of resources to its threshold. The combustion based technologies provide energy which is used in day-to-day works. The combustion leads to emission of gigatons (Gt) of CO2 in atmosphere. The natural carbon cycle in which plants uptake CO2 for photosynthesis about 720 Gt CO2/year is mitigated, however excessive 30-35 Gt CO2/year which is emitted from human contribution overburdens the natural cycle. CO2 is a resilient molecule and its rising concentration is severally alarming for us. This is closely linked to global warming which has been well documented. The severe effects of global warming are evident in day-to-day life and thus, stringent mitigation policies needs to be imposed newline | |
