dc.description.abstractThe study entitled Women empowerment, work life balance and work ethics sustenance in women enterprises aims to examine the role of empowerment in establishing work life balance and work ethics enabling the sustenance of women entrepreneurs and in empowering women entrepreneurs in Kerala. This research examines the catalytic role that the latent phenomenon of women empowerment generates and exhibits on a women s work life balance and how the virtuous conduct of work ethics in the working environment elevates the empowerment level. Generally talking about women empowerment from a layman s view it is perceived that economic empowerment is highly essential. Nevertheless from the perspective of work life balance, the study observed that than economic empowerment, social empowerment has a higher influence on the status of work life balance of women. The work life imbalances are reduced during the social interaction and socialization that a woman experience while in social groups, part of business and being affiliated with self-help groups. Kerala business scenario portrays several examples of industrial sickness specifically those established by women and women groups. Work life balance is a key aspect in this context. Issues of work life imbalances are one amongst the challenges faced by women enterprises to experience sickness in the long term. Work life imbalance becomes balanced with the establishment and management of good work ethics. Study observed the influence of empowerment in sustaining work ethics in women enterprises with the improvement in work environment; and lack of employee support and other contingent factors stemming higher sustenance and empowerment in women and in enterprise. Research results shows that work life balance of women is influenced highly by the presence of enterprise sickness and slightly reformed by the support facilitated by institutions in reviving the firms from enterprise sickness. ...
