Abstract

Not only humans even animals need shelter to live in where they feel safe and nourish their family. That is why shelter is considered as one of the basic needs. The study focuses on the basic right of people to housing for all sectors of society which is a complex issue worldwide. The researcher has done the study of various laws relating to real estate, national housing policies, their implementation and shortcomings. Prior to 2016, the Indian real estate market operated in a very haphazard and unorganized manner. The RERA (Real Estate Regulatory Authority) Act, 2016 has the potential to clean up this sector and make it much more organized, allowing it to become the engine of the Indian economy. However, there are some problems that need to be resolved, and the scope of this act is required to be widened to make it more efficient and business friendly. newline
