Abstract
newlineThe most useful power sources for induction heaters are
newlinesemiconductor converters The operating frequency range which is used for
newlineinduction heating is about 0 5 500 kHz In each specific case the operating
newlinefrequency depends on the volume of the heated block and also on the
newlinecharacter of the technological process Initially the electrical machine
newlinefrequency converters had been used for induction heaters the form of the
newlineload voltage current was actually a sine wave After the introduction of
newlineelectronic frequency converters the traditional sine waveform was conserved
newlinein spite of the fact that modern power electronic converters permit the
newlineproduction of various forms of output voltage and current In these cases
newlineuseful effects can be obtained both in the power supply and in the
newlinetechnological process Further semiconductor switching devices operate in the hard
newlineswitch mode in various types of PWM converters and inverter topology
