Theoretical investigation of dielectric spectra related to freedericksz transition in antiferroelectric liquid crystals under several geometries

Abstract

Liquid crystals have become a very important field of research over the last several newlinedecades because of their various scientific and technological applications. Moreover, they newlineconsume very small amount of energy when they change their state under external factors newlinesuch as temperature, mechanical stress, electric and magnetic fields etc. Besides, the newlineliquid crystals have many biological aspects also. Liquid crystals are mainly found newlineapplications in display technology and other modern electro-optic devices also. newlineIn this thesis entitled Theoretical investigation of dielectric spectra related to newlineFreedericksz newlinetransition newlinein newlineantiferroelectric newlineliquid newlinecrystals newlineunder newlineseveral newlinegeometries , I have analytically tried to solve the Landau-Ginzburg equations related to newlineliquid crystals with the construction of appropriate form of free energy in different newlineproblems. newline
