Abstract
High entropy alloys are drawing more attention from scientific community owing to their promising results in various properties such as high strength, ductility, oxidation, corrosion, etc. Among the HEAs systems, CoCrFeMnNi and AlCoCrFeNi are the most studied. In this work, effect of various heat treatment conditions on microstructural evolution, oxidation, and corrosion behavior of AlCoCrFeNi2 HEA is investigated.
newlineIn, conclusion, AlCoCrFeNi2 HEA quenched from 1200 °C shows improved corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance compared to other heat-treated conditions. This indicates that the heat- treatment has a significant effect on the microstructure and other properties of the alloys. Presence of higher content of Al in Al1.5CoCrFeNi2 alloy resulted in excellent oxidation resistance as it showed the formation of exclusive and#945;-Al2O3 layer on the sample surface. Therefore, the alloy composition and the heat-treatment method can be used based on the application.
