STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: A study to assess the effectiveness of propaedeutic module on knowledge, attitude and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls at selected government middle schools in Chengalpattu District. OBJECTIVES:1.To assess the knowledge, attitude, and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls in experimental and control groups.2.To evaluate the effectiveness of the propaedeutic module on knowledge, attitude, and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls in experimental and control groups.3.To compare the knowledge, attitude and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls between experimental and control group in pre and post test.4.To correlate the knowledge, attitude, and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls in experimental and control groups.5.To associate the knowledge, attitude, and self-protection practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls with selected demographic and cultural variables in experimental and control groups. MATERIALS AND METHODS: True experimental design was chosen for this study. Using Stratified random sampling technique, A total of 200 students were assigned A structured questionnaire and practice check list were used to measure knowledge, attitude, and self-protection practices addressing sexual abuse and its prevention. Pretest was done for both experimental and control group. there was a statistically significant difference at level plt0.001 within the pre and post test knowledge, attitude and self-protection practices. CONCLUSION: The purpose of this study to assess the effectiveness of a propaedeutic module on Knowledge, Attitude, and Self-protection Practices towards sexual abuse among adolescent girls at selected Government Middle Schools in Chengalpattu District. newline
