Abstract
Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) and Social Network are the most
newlinegrowing research fields forever. Considering the first, vehicular ad hoc network is
newlinevery much useful to unicast and broadcast the messages with one another in order
newlineto enhance the security and safety measures. The entire architecture of VANET can
newlinebe classified into the following models: (i) RoadSide Unit (RSU), (ii) Vehicle to
newlineVehicle (V2V) and the vehicle to vehicle model can be further subdivided into (iii)
newlineCuster based communication model. In all these communication architectures,
newlineDedicated Short Rage Communication (DSRC) is used to route the warnings and
newlineother information among the nodes. This DSRC is similar to WiFi protocol
newlinecommunication model. However, all these communication models have numerous
newlinelimitations which would degrade communication performance in VANET
newlinearchitecture. Innovative network architecture referred as Web Vehicular Ad Hoc
newlineNetwork (WVANET) is proposed to eliminate the drawbacks exist in the other
newlinenetwork architectures of VANET.
newlineThe Web VANET (WVANET) architecture is entirely different from the
newlineprevious architectures in terms of the communication technology is used. In Web
newlineVANET architecture, web technology is used to unicast and broadcast the
newlinemessages among the nodes whereas DSRC is used in the other network models of
newlineVANET. The Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) delivers the
newlinewarning and other messages among the vehicles. In WVANET architecture,
newlineWiMAX antennas are placed at the road sides for web signal propagation. All the
newlinenodes are connected with the web signals and get ready the exchange the messages
newlinewith one another. It is obvious, that WiMAX has the capacity of covering miles of
newlinedistances. Hence, very few towers are required to create the successful network
newlinecommunication among the vehicles. It is beleived that Web VANET (WVANET)
newlineoutperforms than the previous models. However, authenticating each node in
newlineWVANET will be a challenging task.
