Abstract

The introductory chapter highlights the growth of feminism with reference to the Western contacts as well as the Eastern contacts of women s struggle. The related movements, rebellions and out-breaks are traced. Some women directly fought against the various types of oppression and suppression in the society and families. Some women have written about the sufferings of women in the form of essays and fictitious narratives. The thesis highlights the waves, classifications and definitions of post-feminism, British, American, European, French and radical feminism. The great feminist writers and their books also referred.
